I like both playing video games, as well as deeply understanding what makes them tick. Luckily you can combine the two and start making your own!
I had originally gotten into programming formally for the purposes of making games, but since then have expanded into nearly all aspects of the full development pipeline (Writing, SFX, Art, UI/UX Design, etc.)
Here are some of the games I've made (the public playable ones, at least) that you can play:
Crystal Commander: An homage to some old classics I used to play as a kid, most notably the old Crystal games (Crystal Quest, Crystal Crazy) on early 90's Macs. Playable on Windows and Android.
Astrobot: Isolation: A short narrative platformer game, made for a Game Jam, and meant to be played in one sitting. A lot of fun techniques learned from this one! Playable on Windows.
Synergy Abyss: A 1st Person Dungeon Crawler RPG for the Game Boy, layered with oodles of corporate satire. Playable directly in your browser, an actual Game Boy (or emulator), or even a "Super Game Boy" style version on Windows!
